Bumper

For TVM, a Dutch insurer focused on transport safety, I worked on the concept for a new app called Bumper. The app is designed specifically for professional truck drivers — a group that spends most of their working life on the road.
TVM’s mission is all about safer driving, and Bumper is their way to make that tangible. The idea? Reward drivers for responsible driving behavior. Drive safely, avoid risky maneuvers, and you earn points — which can be exchanged for rewards. A positive, incentive-based approach instead of traditional penalties.
I was responsible for translating that idea into a clear and engaging app concept. What would motivate drivers? How do you create a digital experience that fits into the rhythm of life on the road — quick, clear, and distraction-free?
I explored how the app could provide feedback loops that felt meaningful without becoming preachy. Progress tracking, visual cues, smart nudges — all with the goal of helping drivers improve, not judge them.
Once the concept and flows were solid, my development partner took over the build Design-wise, the goal was to keep things bold, readable, and friendly — usable in a truck cabin at a glance, and pleasant enough to keep coming back to.
