MijnGemeente App

I was approached by the team behind MijnGemeente, an app that allows residents in dozens of Dutch municipalities to report public issues — things like broken streetlights, illegal dumping, or dangerous potholes.

The existing app had clear functionality, but the experience and visuals were outdated and clunky. The UI was stiff, the flows felt like forms from a different decade, and the overall experience didn’t match the reality of mobile expectations today.

My task was to redesign the entire app — not just visually, but also in terms of structure and clarity. I revisited every screen, rethought the core flows, and aimed to make the experience feel lighter, faster, and more in line with how people naturally use their phones.

From selecting a location to uploading photos and describing the issue, each step was redesigned to feel more natural and efficient — because nobody wants to fight with a slow interface while reporting something in the rain.

The result was a clean, modern version of MijnGemeente that brought much-needed usability back into a tool that thousands of citizens rely on every week.
